Our booking policy
A few things to note-
- We'll complete payment before your appointment, so please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled booking.
- One support person is allowed in the room during the scan. No children under 12 please.
- If your insurance provider is covering the scan and you are using a non affiliated insurance provider**, it's important to send confirmation of payment prior to the scan, or to forward the provider's guarantee of payment, with details, to info@luxradiology.co.nz.
** Lux is an affiliated provider for Southern Cross and NIB.

Our Saturday booking policy
Please note these differences from our weekday bookings;
- All Saturday bookings require full prepayment.
- Our Saturday booking cancellation policy differs from our weekday cancellation policy, as we will be running a much lighter staff on weekends. Please read it.
- One support person is allowed in the room during the scan. No children under 12 please.

Your referral form is important. We need your doctor's referral in advance of your appointment, in order to prepare for your scan.

There is a medical clinic on-site that can provide last-minute appointments. Fees may apply.

Prepare & Attend
What to bring to your scan
We'll complete payment before your appointment, so please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled booking.
- Your referral form. Please bring your printed referral form with you.
- Any prior scan images & reports. If you have previously had medical imaging performed on the same area of your body, please bring those previous images and reports so that our radiographer can provide the best comparative scans.
- Any growth chart. If you have a growth chart, please bring this.
Preparing for your scan
When scanning these areas, correct preparation is essential.
Other examination areas
For all other areas, no preparation required.
Gallbladder or upper abdomen
Please prepare as follows;
- Nothing to eat 6 hours prior to your scan and only water to drink. If you are diabetic, please consult with your Doctor.
- Continue taking your medication as normal.
Dating pregnancy scans
Please prepare as follows;
- Please arrive to your scan with a full bladder. Empty your bladder one hour prior then drink 3-4 glasses of water,
- If your bladder is not full ten minutes prior to your examination, please drink more water. If you are uncomfortably full you may let some out.
Other pregnancy scan types do not require preparation.
Renal, kidney, bladder, prostate, lower abdomen, female pelvis, gynae
Please prepare as follows;
- Please arrive to your scan with a full bladder. Empty your bladder one hour prior then drink 3-4 glasses of water,
- If your bladder is not full ten minutes prior to your examination, please drink more water. If you are uncomfortably full you may let some out.
Abdomen or pelvis
Please prepare as follows;
