I am writing to express my concern and dissatisfaction regarding an ultrasound I underwent at your clinic on 6th June.
The report I received stated that I had two significantly enlarged lymph nodes, measuring approximately 50mm in diameter. Naturally, this finding was extremely alarming and caused me significant emotional distress. Based on this report, I promptly sought further medical advice from a specialist, which involved another ultrasound and consultation—costing me nearly $1000 in total.
However, the specialist’s ultrasound revealed that the lymph nodes were not nearly as large as your report had indicated. The discrepancy between the two results was substantial. Furthermore, I noticed a marked difference in the clarity and resolution between your imaging equipment and the specialist’s. Their equipment provided a much more precise and reliable image.
I believe this issue may have resulted from a combination of inaccurate measurement by the sonographer and limitations in the quality of your ultrasound machine. Had your clinic provided accurate results in the first place, I would not have endured unnecessary stress or incurred additional expenses.
I am writing this not only to raise a complaint but also to warn other patients who may be considering getting their scans done at Lux. If patients are paying similar fees, they deserve the assurance of accurate diagnostics and modern equipment—not the risk of being misled by substandard imaging and imprecise evaluations.
We had our anatomy scan at the Ponsonby clinic after having two bad experiences with previous scans booked with other providers and it was a lovely and memorable experience. Nikki was so pleasant with her dealings with us prior to the scan and made us feel comfortable. I was nervous but Ginny who did the sonography put me at ease with her friendly nature and explained what she was seeing/doing as she went along. Our baby was wiggly but Ginny was so patient. After almost 50 minutes of trying she asked us to go have a coffee and come back so she could try again which is not something other scanning places do. When it still did not work, we booked a follow up appointment but they were booked out for a few weeks. Ginny decided to come in early to work on one of the days just so we could find out what we were having and complete the measurements. We were touched by her kindness and will be booking rest of the scans here for sure. Highly recommend this clinic and we do not mind traveling from South Auckland just so we have the peace of mind that baby is growing well and everything checked and explained not rushed like most ultrasound clinics.
